General Description

SAC3244Q4 is a GaAs MMIC absorptive limiter that works from DC to 8 GHz, packaged in a 4 x 4 mm surface mount housing. It takes 34 dBm CW, limits flat leakage to 22 dBm and adds just 0.5 dB of insertion loss in 50 Ω.

It is passive, so no supply or control lines are needed. Going down to DC lets one limiter guard a broadband receiver input, and absorbing the overload keeps reflections off the upstream path. CW incident power is rated to +37 dBm absolute maximum.
