General Description

SAC5009CR12 covers 7.9 to 12 GHz as an X-band GaN MMIC power amplifier in a flanged CR12 ceramic package, with 47 dBm CW output, 26 dB small signal gain and 24% PAE.

At +28 V the drain pulls around 16 A (gate is biased negative), so getting heat out through the flange is the main design job. Internal matching covers the whole band, and the straight leads drop into a housing without forming. ESD handling is Class 1B HBM. Target use is X-band point-to-point radio.
