General Description

In a small 5 x 5 x 0.8 mm plastic QFN, SAC3117BQP5 is a Ku-band GaAs MMIC power amplifier covering 13.5 to 14.5 GHz. Output P1dB is 34.5 dBm with 28 dB of small signal gain and 26% PAE at 14.5 GHz.

IM3 measures -24 dBc at 25 dBm per tone at 14 GHz. Drain supply is +8 V with roughly 2500 mA listed, and pulling the gate to -3 V mutes the amplifier, which is handy for TDD or transmit blanking. Gain holds within ±1 dB. Fits tight SATCOM and point-to-point radio boards.
